As we look ahead to another exciting Mile High season, I want to take a moment to share some important updates about registration, our upcoming schedule, and the work we continue to do for our park, players and families.

Registration Is Open

Registration has been open since mid-November, and we are excited to see families signing up for the 2026 Spring Season.Registration runs through February 15, 2026.

Regular registration fees are:
- T-Ball: $100
- Rookies through Majors: $150
- Junior/Senior: $150

Registering your player(s) early gives us a head start on creating teams, schedules, and resources, so thank you to everyone who has already signed up.

Park Improvements In Progress

- Artificial turf is being installed on the rookie field
- Shade structures will be installed over the bleachers on the majors field
- Majors field will get a new scoreboard, some electrical improvements, and improved landscaping around the perimeter to reduce weed growth
- A concrete ADA walkway will be installed to the north of the concession stand
- Additional concrete and electrical work is being done around the park for improved aesthetics and functionality

Growing Access and Opportunity

As a league, we continue working to improve and strengthen our connection with the broader community. We are first and foremost a recreational league. We welcome children of all abilities, and desire to teach skills, help kids grow in confidence, and most importantly, HAVE FUN! One area of particular focus is growing participation in girls softball. We believe every child should have the opportunity to play, learn, and grow through youth sports, and we’re committed to finding better ways to reach and support families across our area. We welcome all ideas, and we’re always looking for additional volunteers to help with league operations!

Season Timeline

Looking ahead to the spring, here is our tentative plan:
- Player assessments will take place toward the end of February
- Practices will begin in early March (park construction permitting)
- Mile High Opening Day is scheduled for Saturday, April 4th (More information to come as the date approaches)
- Games are expected to start mid to late March and will run through Memorial Day weekend

We’re looking forward to another season full of learning, teamwork, and fun.

A Little About Your President

For those who may not know me well, my name is Bruce Kelley, and yes — I’m an old guy who still believes deeply in youth sports.

I retired from Sandia National Laboratories after 30 years of service and have been involved in the management and leadership of this league for over 15 years. Much of that time has been focused on rebuilding our park infrastructure and strengthening our connection to the community we serve.

I previously served as League President in 2010 and 2011, and again for the past three-plus years. Last year, I was honored to be recognized as a Little League Community Hero, and even more humbled to be selected as one of five Community Heroes nationwide, recognized at the Little League World Series in August 2025.

Beyond the league, I serve as a volunteer on the Bernalillo County Youth Sports Commission, where I work alongside others to find ways to get more kids involved in youth sports and to ensure they have safe, welcoming places to play. I also collaborate with local and state elected officials on initiatives aimed at improving our community and our state.

Thank You

None of this happens without our families, volunteers, coaches, and supporters. Thank you for being part of our Little League community. I’m looking forward to another great season together.

See you at the fields,

Bruce Kelley
