Code of Conduct

Mile High Little League has implemented the following Code of Conduct.  All visitors and participants of league activities are subject to the requirements of this code.  Any parent, coach or spectator guilty of improper conduct at any game or practice will be asked to leave the sports facility and will be suspended from league activities until the matter is addressed by the league’s Board of Directors or disciplinary committee. Repeat violations may result in multiple game suspensions, or forfeiture of the privilege to attend any games for the remainder of the season.

Remember that children participate to have fun and that the game is for youth, not adults.

The essential elements of character building and ethics in sports are embodied in the concept of sportsmanship and six core principles: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and good citizenship. The highest potential of sports is achieved when competition reflects these “six pillars of character.”

All participants and spectators of Mile High Little League activities agree to the following:

  • I will learn and accept the rules of the game and the policies of the league.

  • I (and my guest) will be a positive role model for my child and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy, and by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, officials and spectators at every game, practice or other sporting event.

  • I (and my guest) will respect the officials and their authority during games and will never question, discuss, or confront coaches or umpires at the game field, and will take time to speak with coaches at an agreed upon time and place.

  • I will not engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player, or other spectator such as booing and taunting; refusing to shake hands; making threats; or using profane language or gestures.

  • I will teach my child to play by the rules and to resolve conflicts without resorting to hostility or violence.

  • Unless I am one of the official coaches of the team, I will only offer positive encouragement and I will refrain from coaching of my child or other players during games and practices.

  • I will never ridicule or yell at my child or other participants for making a mistake or losing a game.

  • I will emphasize skill development and teamwork over winning.

  • I will promote a sports environment for my child that is free from drugs, tobacco, and alcohol and I will refrain from their use at all sports events.

  • I will help keep up Mile High’s appearance by picking up after myself and my guests and by placing trash in an appropriate container.

  • I understand that league officials have the authority to remove me or my guest from the sports facility (including other facilities where Mile High teams are participating) and that my failure to promptly leave the game or practice site will be referred to law enforcement.

  • I will comply with all relevant public health order requirements applicable to youth sports. I will require my guests and my player(s) to comply. I will immediately comply with any requests from a league official that are seeking to enforce the public health order requirements or this code of conduct.
